Detailed description of Bayou Barriere Golf Club
Bayou Barriere Golf Club is a Public, 27 hole golf facility located in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. These course are named The Green Course, The Gold Course and The Purple Course. They can be combined to make three different 18 hole combinations: Green/Gold, Green/Purple, and Gold/Purple.
Bayou Barriere Golf Club first opened for play in 1965. The course was designed by Jimmy Self. The Green/Golf combination plays to 6,646 yards a 69.2 course rating and a 132 slope rating.
The easiest course is the Green Course which has many short par fours. The most difficult course is the Gold Course. There are water hazards that come into play on several holes, and many out-of-bounds stakes lining other holes. The Purple Course is interesting, because it tees off from the levy. All three courses have tree-lined fairways that are generous, and their greens are medium-sized.

no houses/backyards(like playing in a manicured field). plenty trees/h2o. very nice staff & clubhouse is new (Katrina damaged old one). playing the extra 9 holes costs an additional $5.00! good bargain!
